What you’ll need:
- Paper
- Pen, pencil, or marker
- Tape
- Pushpin*
- Pumpkin-carving tools*
- Scissors*
*Kids, ask a grown-up to help with scissors and other sharp tools.
Instructions:
- Click the Download and Print button, then open the file on your computer and print.
- Print the stencil you want to use, then trim the excess paper around the stencil outline, leaving a ½-inch border.
- Cut out a lid on your pumpkin, then scoop out all the pumpkin innards.
- Tape the stencil to your pumpkin, then use a pushpin to carefully poke holes along the guidelines. Space the holes about 1/8-inch apart.
- Remove the stencil and tape, then use a carving saw to cut along the dotted lines you made with the pushpin. Use carving tools to smooth out any rough spots.
- Illuminate your jack-o’-lantern with a glow stick, battery-powered light, or candle (with adult permission, of course).
