You can celebrate Toy Day and more festivities this December in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. Here’s a look at fun in-game events* like Toy Day, New Year’s Eve, Snowboys, and the Winter Solstice!

Holiday-themed decorations will start to appear on your island in December. You can even shake trees for ornaments! And if you want to spread the good cheer around, you can help Jingle deliver presents to your residents on Toy Day, December 24.

You can ring in the new year with your island residents on New Year’s Eve (December 31). The countdown event starts at 7 p.m. on December 31.

There’s even more happening in December. Since the events depend on which hemisphere you’re in, here are details for both.

Northern hemisphere

Snow is gently falling, which means it’s the perfect time to build Snowboys! You can roll a couple of snowballs and see if you can you make a perfect Snowboy. And while you’re out and about on your island, you can also be on the lookout for snowflakes. Snowflakes can even be used in some DIY recipes.

Players may want to gaze at the night sky on December 21, the day of the Winter Solstice. Not only is it the shortest day of the year, but you may start seeing auroras shimmering above your island.

Southern hemisphere

Players in the southern hemisphere can look forward to a Bug-Off event on December 18.
