The weapons

You can use this new weapon type to scatter ink in front of you. The umbrella can be also used as a shield to block attacks. Completing this set is the Sprinkler sub weapon and the Ink Storm special.

Its range is pretty short, but its rapid-fire makes it an excellent choice for close-combat situations. You can go deep into opponents’ territory and open holes in their defenses. This set comes with a Curling Bomb sub and Splashdown special.

This weapon appears as the shooter-type Jet Squelcher in the Splatoon game, but it’s been reborn as a Dualies-type weapon in the Splatoon 2 game. Its iconic longish-range and rapid-fire return, along with the added dodge roll ability. Good for nimble fighters who want to be a real nuisance to opponents!

Each swipe from this weapon isn’t terribly powerful, but it lets you move quickly while inking turf. You can use this mobility to flank the enemy team and splat ‘em before their ready! This set comes with the Splat Bomb for its sub weapon and the Splashdown for its special.

This charger is a bit short on range, but can charge up quickly, allowing you to jump into the fray. You can use the Point Sensor sub weapon to sniff out hidden opponents, then overrun and outnumber marked enemies. It comes with Ink Armor as a special. Great for anyone confident with a charger in close quarters.

This special weapon will be available first in a set with the Forge Splattershot Pro starting September 1.

The stages

Grizzco Industries has apparently established a new location for its Salmon Run operation. This location, known as Lost Outpost, appears to be an abandoned settlement near a coastal region. This new Salmon Run stage is available via The Shoal for local multiplayer*. It will also be rotated into upcoming online work shifts.

The Manta Maria is a large sailboat moored at a harbor near Inkopolis, and it will soon be the site of many fierce ink battles. The towering masts and nets in the center of the stage will likely be a key area of conflict.

A special stage called Shifty Station will be added to the rotation during Splatfests! It appears to be exclusive to Splatfest battles, and apparently the stage design can even change from Splatfest to Splatfest.
