Backward and forward

Players usually head straight ahead at the start of a level in a platforming game. But here’s a cool tip: when you start a level in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, you can turn around and go backward to try to find secret rooms, items, and more.

Secret exits

Some levels contain hidden exits that open new paths on the map. Not all Kongs can reach these secret exits, but Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong can use their special moves to help Donkey Kong get there. Inside the hidden exit, you’ll find a second Slot Machine Barrel that you can hit to clear the level.

Helpful surroundings

You never know what you may find while exploring in-game worlds. But you can try to find out by interacting with the environment around you by jumping on or hitting certain objects. While swimming underwater in World 4-3: Amiss Abyss, you can bump into bioluminescent fish to help light your way through dark caverns.

Down to the last detail

There’s a lot going on in this game, so it can be hard trying to catch all the details. But if you can pay close attention to what’s going on in the background, you may be able to spot things like hidden Barrels that can be used to take you to hidden areas.

Rambi smash!

You can ride Rambi, a powerful rhinoceros, through some levels. With Rambi on your side, you can try to smash as many things as you can to find useful items like Bananas to fill the Kong POW Meter, Hearts to heal damage, and more.
