A great way to get collectible items is to use coins in the Crank-a-kai!
Ya know, the old capsule machine on Mount Wildwood where you first met your Yo-kai butler, Whisper? You can get all sorts of items from the Crank-a-kai. The most valuable collectables, of course, are the Yo-kai Medals from over 200 different types of Yo-kai that let you call upon them in battle. Crank-a-kai coins, however, are few and far between in the game. Luckily, our YO-KAI WATCH game experts have 5 easy tips to help you catch those coins!
Play Coins
You know those Play Coins you collect for walking around with your Nintendo 3DS system? You can cash them in for Crank-a-kai coins! Just pick “Use Play Coins” when using the Crank-a-kai machine.
Treasure chests
Have you seen little, colorful boxes with eyeballs on them in the game? Those are treasure chests. They contain all sorts of useful items including Crank-a-kai coins!
Smile and say “Yo-kai”!
Use the Yo-kai Cam on the main menu to uncover the hidden Yo-kai around you and earn Crank-a-kai coins for special achievements.
Take it to the bank
You can use the Nintendo 3DS Camera at Piggleston Bank to read QR Code® patterns and exchange them for Crank-a-kai coins. You can find these codes on official YO-KAI WATCH YouTube videos and on YO-KAI WATCH merchandise.
Post it up
Just up the street from the bank is Lambert Post Office, where you can enter special promotional passwords to get special Crank-a-kai coins that you can’t normally get in the game.
