You can play in the snow!
Snowy weather is expected on your island all winter long. You can roll snowballs along the snowy ground to make larger snowballs, then stack one on top of the other to build a snowboy. If you’re able to make a happy snowboy (with a big body and a smaller head), they may even give you a DIY recipe. You can also try to catch snowflakes with your net and use them to craft festive recipes.
You can deck the halls!
You may notice it’s beginning to look a lot like Toy Day on your island paradise. If you see trees with holiday decorations, you can give them a shake to see if you can get a few ornaments. Then you can use the ornaments to craft festive DIY recipes that can help you decorate your island for Toy Day. You might get holiday DIY recipes from balloons, too – which is a good reason to use your slingshot to shoot down any balloons floating past!
You can go on a shopping spree
Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer, will visit your island on Toy Day (December 24). You can get ready for his visit with a holiday shopping spree! At Nook’s Cranny, you can buy festive gifts to deliver to your animal neighbors on Toy Day. You can also visit the Able Sisters’ shop to get yourself a gift – like a cheerful new outfit!
You can spread holiday cheer!
When Toy Day finally arrives, be on the lookout for Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer. Jingle will visit your island on Toy Day – and it seems like he’ll need your help spreading holiday cheer! You can do your holiday duty by delivering gifts to all the residents of your island. Jingle might even give you an in-game treat for helping him out.
You can ring in the new year!
On New Year’s Eve (December 31), you can join your island residents at the plaza for a grand Countdown event. Isabelle and Tom Nook will be giving away and selling party goods to help you ring in the new year. After Toy Day, you’ll be able to purchase sparkling cider as a special holiday item from the Nook Stop Terminal in game. Then you can gather with friends on New Year's Eve night to count down to midnight and enjoy the dazzling fireworks display.
