There are tons of Abilities and battle types to choose from in the Kirby Battle Royale game. Here are our top Tips & Tricks for boosting your battles!

Boost Orbs

Boost Orbs are items that give you a power-up during battle by boosting Kirby’s ability in some way. There are two types of Boost Orbs: Passive and Activated. You can tap the touchscreen during battle to use Activated Boost Orbs, which give you a big boost at one time. Passive Boost Orbs give only a small boost but trigger automatically during battle (less work for you). For example, Power Throw is a Boost Orb that improves Kirby’s throwing ability. If you pair Power Throw with the Whip Ability, you can give Kirby’s throwing ability a real boost during battle!

The Cake Royale

Before jumping into the hectic action of multiplayer mode, you can explore a delicious-sounding story mode called The Cake Royale. In this single-player story, Kirby’s out to foil King Dedede’s plan and win the Cake Royale tournament. The tournament has Kirby battling other Kirbys in different series of events to rise through the ranks, from bronze to platinum. Along the way, you’ll unlock Boost Orbs and Abilities to customize Kirby’s actions.

Different attacks

Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee are all playable characters in the game…once they’re unlocked, that is. Even though these characters can choose from the same Abilities as Kirby, they can use different attacks. Each Ability has a basic attack, a charge attack, and a special attack. A lot of the Abilities have an intense attack, too. Think you can try them all?

Completing challenges

As you play through the game, you’ll get lots of chances to complete challenges like battling in all 25 stages in Single-Player mode. You can try to complete these challenges to earn in-game Battle Coins, which you can then use to unlock new items for your Collection. You can also use Battle Coins to unlock new battle types and abilities, to change Kirby’s look, and to hear songs from the game. Cha-ching!

Download Play

Download Play gives you a chance to battle friends who don’t have the game. This feature on your Nintendo 3DS family system lets you battle with friends in Battle Mode Multiplayer—even if they don’t own the game! Up to three other players can join the battle on their own Nintendo 3DS family system, as long as one player owns a version of the Kirby Battle Royale game.
