Weapons and armor are helpful, but Runes offer a special kind of power in the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game.

Runes go beyond regular items or weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link can acquire these powerful tools to his Sheikah Slate and use them to solve puzzles, battle enemies, and more!

Remote Bomb

Rocks and boulders blocking your path? Link can detonate a Remote Bomb from a safe distance using a remote trigger. There are two types of Remote Bombs – round and cubic – and they’re both pretty effective, so you can blast away barriers, enemies, and more.

Stasis

Link can use the Stasis Rune to stop the flow of time for an item, which gives the item a chance to store up kinetic energy. Then, use a sword or other strong weapon to release the pent-up energy and send the object flying. You can even use Stasis to freeze obstacles in place so you can sneak past!

Magnesis

Link’s always been a magnet for adventure, but now he can use magnetic energy to move heavy metal. The Magnesis Rune gives you the power to manipulate metal, which means you can latch onto a nearby metallic object and lift it up, drag it around, or drop it on an enemy’s head.

Cryonis

Link can use the Cryonis Rune to freeze water into ice pillars—a surprisingly handy power. These columns of ice may be slippery, but Link can use them as a platform for climbing or as a tool for solving puzzles. Brrrr…illiant!
