X marks the spot
Can you spot the X on the ground in front of Mario and Luigi? If you see an X on the ground in the game, it means there are beans nearby! You can collect these little treasures throughout the game. Then, bring your beans to Prof. Egad's coffee shop to earn accessories and permanent stat boosts.
This game is full of fun places to explore. Of course, some of those spots are pretty well hidden. If you keep an eye out, you may discover small hidden pathways that lead to a Monty Mole. He’ll give you a chance to take on fun platforming challenges, playing as either Mario or Luigi. If you win the challenge, you can receive an in-game prize—like a 1-Up Mushroom!
Getting there is half the fun, especially when it comes to journeying through the Beanbean Kingdom. Travelling via pipe is a fantastic way to get around, since you can just jump in and zoom off. You can try to unlock quick travel throughout the game by entering all the green pipes you come across.
Minigames are a great way to earn beans…and have fun doing it! You can try to find these mini-challenges throughout the game, including a mine cart game and a game where you design a shirt. You can even try to beat your high score to earn additional beans, which can be used to get items at Prof. Egad's coffee shop.
Bonuses with amiibo
Once you receive an in-game Stamp Sheet, you can tap any compatible amiibo figure to earn a stamp and equipment for Mario or Luigi. You can also try to level up certain Minions to earn stamps on the Minion Stamp Sheet, then use those stamps to unlock extra stages in the Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser adventure. The Boo amiibo figure and brand-new Goomba and Koopa Troopa amiibo figures unlock additional Minion Stamp Sheets.
