What happens when you take Olympic events and add an extra layer of fun and difficulty? You get Plus Events, special, amped-up versions of each sport in Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! We’re talking enemies, items, crazy challenges—and that equals pure fun!

If “pure fun” isn’t reason enough, here are a few more reasons to take on these unique events on the Road to Rio!

There are 14 Plus Events—and that’s a LOT!

Are you kidding me? That’s the same number of regular events that are featured in the game! That means you’re getting double the events in one game. Each Plus Event features its own special challenges and obstacles, too.

You don’t have to unlock them!

Events are available as soon as you start the game, so you don’t have to jump over any hurdles to play them. Of course, you do need to jump over hurdles in the 110m Hurdles Plus …hurdles that are made of enemies, that is!

You’ll spot enemies and items from Mario & Sonic’s universes!

A Piranha Plant on the BMX track? Moto Bugs on the Equestrian arena? Now those are things you don’t normally see at the Olympic Games!

You appreciate a challenge, right?

The Plus Events are the coolest kind of challenge, because you can play the Olympic event first—and then you can try your hand at the amped-up Plus Event version. Take Archery, for example. In the Olympic event, you shoot an arrow and try to hit a target. In the Archery Plus Event, you’ve got to try to shoot at moving Boo targets!

Your friends appreciate a challenge too!

With Local Wireless or Download Play, you and up to three friends can compete to score the most points in a series of Plus Events. Watch out for that Thwomp, everyone!

Additional games and systems required for multiplayer mode.  Sold separately.
