Dynamaxing can sway the course of battle
The Dynamax phenomenon not only makes your Pokémon huge—it can also give them a boost in power. You can choose which one of your Pokémon to Dynamax depending on what’s happening in the battle. But they will return to normal after three turns, and you can only Dynamax your Pokémon once per battle. You might want to think carefully about when to trigger the Dynamax phenomenon!
Two ways to encounter Pokémon
You can encounter all kinds of new Pokémon in the Galar region. Some Pokémon roam around freely where you can see them. If you whistle at a bold Pokémon, it may run toward you. To catch a timid Pokémon, you might have to move more slowly. You can also randomly encounter Pokémon in the tall grass. If you see an exclamation point in the grass, it means a Pokémon is hiding there!
The weather changes in the Wild Area
The Wild Area is full of nature as far as the eye can see. It’s also home to the largest variety of Pokémon in Galar. The weather in the Wild Area can change depending on where you are or what time of day it is. You’ll see sunshine and rain and might even run into more uncommon weather patterns such as thunderstorms. You’ll find different Pokémon depending on the weather!
What’s on the menu? Curry!
Pokémon Camp is a great place to cook a well-known Galar region dish: Curry. There are many types of Curry dishes to make in the game. You can search all over the Galar region to find different ingredients, and the type of Curry you make will depend on the ingredients you use. Each dish you cook will end up in your Curry Dex. You can try to cook them all to be a Curry Master!
Each game version has its own exclusives
There are several differences between the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games. One such difference is the species of Pokémon that appear. Sirfetch’d will make its appearance in the Pokémon Sword game, and Galarian Ponyta will make its appearance in the Pokémon Shield game. Each version has its own exclusive legendary Pokémon as well. If you wanted to get one of these exclusive Pokémon that is not in the version you have then you can trade for it!
