Plus, we’ll help you locate Story Mode, how to access Salmon Mode, catch you catch up on the basics, and show you the many exciting ways to play that’ll have you hooked.

How do I get started in Story Mode?

Story Mode is the single-player mode in the Splatoon 3 game. To find it, we suggest you follow the mysterious man down into the sewer. To do this, you’ll need to press ZL on your controller to change into Squid form and swim down into the sewer. In this solo mode, you’ll journey through a story fraught with mystery. Story Mode is also great for practice. You can try to master the basics in this mode before moving on to other modes like Salmon Run and Turf War!

What’s Salmon Run mode and how do you play it?

Salmon Run is a four-player* co-op mode (one player per system) in which the goal is to fend off waves of dangerous Salmonid bosses and collect Golden Eggs. So where can you find it? At Grizzco, of course. You’ll have to complete a Salmon Run tutorial, then head back to Grizzco to start a private job. If you reach your quota, you’ll be able to earn fish scales that can be turned in to unlock new gear like Work Suits, Decorations, Stickers, and Banners. By the way, you must be at least Level 4 to play this mode.

What’s the deal with Turf War? It’s sounds fun!

Beloved by squiddos everywhere, Turf War is a three-minute, 4-vs-4* battle in the Splatoon 3 game. Two teams of four players battle to see who can ink a majority of the map with their team’s ink. The team that claims the most turf wins! You can splat ink using things that look like water guns, brushes, buckets…even an umbrella.

Can I use amiibo figures while playing Splatoon 3?

You sure can! You can use compatible amiibo figures to unlock items, snap photos, and more. To access the amiibo feature from Splatsville, you can make your way to the giant empty amiibo box and press the A button. On the next screen, there will be a prompt with details on how to use amiibo in the game. You’ll even get a in-game gift from each figure!
