These helpful hints work for all three adventures in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars game. So…it’s kind of like three Tips & Tricks articles in one!

 Which button does what now?

Mario can perform some sweet moves—but only if you know which buttons to press. You can press the – Button on your Joy-Con controller to view the controls for moves like Punch, Kick, Jump, and Swim. Once you know which buttons to use for Mario’s basic and advanced moves, you can press the – Button to start playing again.

Mastering Mario’s moves

Once you know which buttons to press, you can try to master Mario's moves. A little practice goes a long way as you hop, jump, and dive your way to success. For example, the side-somersault will give you an extra height boost. You can give it a try when you see hard-to-reach places!

Hints are hidden in plain sight

You can interact with signs and characters with the press of a button! Specifically, the A Button. When you spot a character, you can approach them and press the A Button. Sometimes they’ll provide helpful hints about where to go and what to do next. You can also press the A Button to read signs or check locations on a map.

How to change your point of view

When you're in a tough spot, you can try moving the camera angle with the Right Control Stick. Changing your point of view might give you a chance to zoom in on an enemy, discover cleverly hidden items, find an escape route, or accomplish an important task.

Memorable melodies at your fingertips

Even when you aren’t playing, you can enjoy the sounds that these worlds—and galaxies—are so famous for. You can listen to a total of 175 iconic tunes from all three games in music-player mode.  Whether you want to get up and dance or take a minute to relax—this collection has music that might fit your mood. You can even jam while the Nintendo Switch system's screen is on or off!
