Learning something new is like gaining a real-life power-up! The Game Builder Garage game for the Nintendo Switch system helps you understand the basics of visual programming in a fun way. Here are a few “how-to” tips to help you power up with new skills!

How to get to know Nodon

You’ll get plenty of help from an entertaining cast of Nodon—colorful creatures packed with personality in charge of things like moving your character, pressing buttons, and adding sound effects. The Nodopedia can help keep track with detailed descriptions of each Nodon and what they do.

How to find refreshers on lessons

Each lesson is broken down into multiple parts that let you go at your own pace. Alice’s Guide offers refresher courses on the lessons you’ve already completed. You can also read a written log of the lesson, change settings on the controls, and access the Nodopedia from Alice’s Guide.

How to flex your creative muscles

Color menu offers Auto option (where the color will be selected automatically), plus a variety of colors: Blue, red, green, yellow, light blue, pink, lime green, orange, purple, brown, white, and black.

You can let your imagination and curiosity run wild in Free Programming, where the sky’s the limit! You can add Nodon to your programming screen and decide how they interact to bring your game to life. You can choose the music or an exciting theme—or even experiment with colors to make your creations look great.

How to keep your skills sharp

To make sure you’ve grasped the basics of a lesson, you can test your skills at the post-lesson checkpoints. You can use what you’ve learned to clear each checkpoint and bring your newfound knowledge over to the next game!

How to share your game creations with friends

You can exchange codes with friends to download* their games and share your own over local wireless! You can check out the programming behind downloaded games. You can even use this feature to work on a game together with friends.
