How to shop digital

Get the games you want—when you want them—by shopping digital with Nintendo. The whole family can jump right into fun with digital games, DLC* (downloadable content), and free game demos from Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch system or online at My Nintendo Store.

How to instantly download digital games to your system

When you purchase a digital game from Nintendo eShop or My Nintendo Store, the game will be sent to your system automatically after purchase—no code required. You can start playing as soon as the game has been loaded onto your system! If you want to add more storage to your system, you can store digital content on an officially licensed microSDXC card (sold separately).

Digital games are only available on one console but can be played by multiple accounts (for example, if you have a family membership for one Nintendo Switch system). Physical games can be shared between consoles. You can learn more about digital game purchases here.

With the My Nintendo Rewards Program, the Nintendo Account holder in your family can earn points and redeem them to get rewards. Nintendo Account holders can earn 5% in Gold Points on each eligible digital purchase, which can then be used toward the purchase of their next eligible game or DLC. Please note that the My Nintendo points go to the Nintendo Account from which the game was purchased. Not yet a member? Visit the My Nintendo Rewards Program official site to get started.

You’ll need a free Nintendo Account to use My Nintendo. You can also create Nintendo Accounts for kids so the whole family can participate in the My Nintendo Rewards Program and earn their own My Nintendo points.

Gold Points are awarded based on the amount you pay (excluding tax and any points or discounts used) and have no cash value. A Nintendo Account is required to receive and redeem points. Terms apply. https://accounts.nintendo.com/term_point
